Hypnosis

There are many people who fear hypnosis, feeling they will be out of control in some way, which is actually the opposite of what occurs.

Us humans naturally go in and out of trance states throughout the day. For example have you ever driven somewhere and not remembered the journey, or got caught up in a daydream, or immersed yourself in a task, or a book and lost track of time. These are examples of everyday trance states. Hypnosis occurs within the trance state.

It is a naturally occurring brain wave state similar to the dream state. It is within this place in the brain that new learnings and habits form.

After establishing with you what you want to feel better about, a skilled hypnotherapist uses this natural state, through a process of relaxation to embed new learnings, whilst you remain in control as you feel relaxed and calm. This is all done in consultation with you, and may result in you feeling more relaxed, calm and confident in life.
