Everything I have learnt over the years about how to stay joyful and well, all combines and flows into Qoya dance. Qoya goes deeper than just movement and dance. Through the 3 movement forms we touch deeply our innate capacity to heal, connect with joy and pleasure in our bodies . The wisdom of the ancient practice of Yoga (Wise) Creative expression in dance (Wild) and connecting with sensual pleasure felt within the body (Free), as women we learn to trust the physical sensation of truth in our bodies.

The truth that we all crave, an ‘internal knowing’ that to connect with what’s real, an inner joy that does not come from the material world and all its obligations but lies within us and can be accessed at any time. Instead of striving through effort, how about letting go with awareness to allow more of the felt experience in through the medicine of movement.
Moving onto and along the pathway 6inches from the mind to the heart, through movement and connecting to the wisdom of the felt experience of the body is medicine. Its not about what it looks like, its about how it feels and when it feels true, right, good, then it feels enlivening.

Combining this with Music, ritual and a sense of community creates a magic potion, free range and organic! Music reverberates and resonates within each cell of our body.
“Music is life itself”
Louise Armstrong
We know instinctually that music shifts emotions in an instant. The music imbued in each Qoya class runs along the theme of the class, and adds a deeper felt layer of connection to self and others within the space.
“Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed hearts open”
Maria Vonn Trapp
